Lessons In Lost Time, 2019-2022
Lessons in Lost Time is a highly visual and poetic feature-length narrative, which will be the third film in the Out of Light series. Combining moving image, stills and vivid, surreal animations, the film focuses on a woman (perhaps an actress) experiencing a neurological breakdown resulting in mysterious bouts of amnesia and blackouts. The film features performers Saori Tsukada and Jim Fletcher and explores the elusive nature of identity, perception, time, isolation and reality, culminating in phantasmic visions of a looming apocalypse (either real or imagined).
Lessons In Lost Time is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
